Meet Mercy Mbogho, the Co-Founder and CEO of the Chemi Chemi Organization! She is passionate about inspiring positive change and empowering local communities to achieve sustainable development. Mercy firmly believes that together, we can create a brighter future for generations to come. By promoting community-led initiatives, she helps foster a sense of ownership and sustainability in development efforts. With over 20 years of experience in community development and resource management, Mercy is a true expert in program management. Thanks to her visionary leadership, the organization has made a remarkable impact through thoughtful and strategic initiatives. Her dedication to uplifting communities is truly inspiring!

Meet Dr. Judith Okello, the wonderful Board Chairperson of the Chemi Chemi Organization! Judith is all about making a difference by empowering communities and leading exciting social and environmental projects that truly have a positive impact. As the Chair of the National Mangrove Management Committee, she enthusiastically drives the implementation of the National Mangrove Ecosystem Management Plan, championing sustainable practices that benefit both people and our beautiful planet. With over 17 years of heartfelt dedication to conservation, Judith loves promoting agroforestry fodder farming and gathering support for community-led ecological mangrove restoration along the stunning coastline of Kenya.
Judith also serves in the global board of the Women in Nature Network (WiNN), working alongside fellow advocates to support inspiring environmental initiatives.
she’s a respected forester and serves as the Principal Research Scientist at the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute. With a PhD in Bio-Engineering Sciences and a Master’s in Ecological Marine Management from Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB) and Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Judith has the knowledge and enthusiasm to make a real difference. Her tireless efforts are helping to advance marine and ecological conservation, all in the spirit of creating a healthier Earth for future generations. Judith’s commitment to positive change is truly uplifting!

Meet CPA Patrick Kasamba, a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in Financial Management, Risk Management, and Consulting, including 20 years in Senior Management roles. He excels at building strong management teams and has worked with both profit and not-for-profit organizations.
Patrick holds an MBA in Strategic Management and a Bachelor’s in Business Management (Finance) from Moi University, plus a Diploma in Co-operative Management from the Co-op University of Kenya. As a practicing Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (ICPAK), he is actively involved in the Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors, always eager to learn and share his expertise.
